Redoak has been a very busy place over the past couple of months.
The website will be undergoing a maintenance period over the Summer, and ideas from our audience are most welcome. Would you like to see new pictures, text and video? Or would you like us to go Web 2.0? Feel free to use the enquriry form on the left to tell us what you think.
Robert's office is currently undergoing building work, with most of his time spent sorting through the papers and moving filing cabinets. Ann, too, has been busy at work. She has, however, managed to secure the next batch of pigs for the summer, and pictures will be following from the 19th April
Finally, Oliver has begun to blog for his university studies. You can find a link to his site here. From Our Rutland Correspondent is a personal blog from Oliver about Rutland, Politics and much more.

A happy new year to all our guests and visitors to Redoak

As we begin the Christmas Festivities at Redoak, we have been inundated with calls to update the news section of the website. Sadly, our regular updates are slowed as Oliver is away at University. With the Christmas holidays approaching, we hope you keep your eyes on the site and the now famous Pigs!
Our recent entry into the local Fatstock Show at Uppingham didn't produce any rosettes, but the Pigs chosen for show had a very enjoyable day. They even made it into the Rutland Times! - Pictures to follow
Many local fetes, markets and carol singing will be taking place in the coming weeks. We highly recommend you visit the Discover Rutland website to find out more. If you are in the area feel free to book an overnight stay in Redoak, or even consider taking a weekend break package with us.

In what's been one of Redoak's busiest months, we've seen mnay changes around the estate.
The recent bout of weather has meant that we have a had a poor crop of Damsons, leading to a meager production of Damson Gin.
We've had many guests in the Bed & Breakfast section, who have already booked again for next year's season
The next batch of pigs has arrived; all 6 of them! 3 'pink' pigs, and 3 Berkshires. They are currently 14 weeks old and loving their brand new pen.
Though this small update can't do justice to everything that's happened in Redoak, we hope it is enough to keep our avid readers informed.
24/8/08
We have uploaded a segment of video to YouTube of the pigs leaving Redoak. This can be viewed on the Redoak Pigs page, or by clicking here
We soon hope to add an RSS feed to this page as well, to ensure all our avid readers are kept up to date with the latest Redoak happenings.
Aside from the poor weather, we've harvested some potatoes from our grow bags, and we've found that the tomatoes are starting to ripen.
It has been suggested at a recent brain-storming session that Redoak take on some cattle. We are giving this much consideration at the moment, but rest assured our web readers will be the first to know if we go ahead with it.
We hope you continue to make the most of the summer that's left before autumn. Rutland's local tourist information will have plenty of information of what's happening around the county.

The pigs, a much loved attraction of Redoak, have sadly left the pig pen for pastures new. We, at Redoak, wish them the best of luck, wherever they may be. As an ever-lasting tribute, a YouTube video is expected within the next week.
On a happier note, the Redoak team have been away at the CLA Game Fair, with show round-ups and future dates here. A recommendation to fans of country sports, country businesses and all things rural.
We hope that you are making the most of the weather, what little sunshine we have at least. Whilst there may not be any temperature records broken this summer, we are still hopeful for a warm August. If you’re in the Rutland area, and are looking for things to do, then please feel free to look at our Local Attractions page, which has details of what's on offer.

With summer weather finally hitting Redoak, it has been a much warmer couple of weeks. Our pigs have found a small wallow to keep themselves cool, and the fish are coming up to the surface more and more.
We are now pleased to offer a single room attachment to our current twin room. This single room has en-suite facilities. Pictures to follow.
A small update indeed, but small changes are always happening at Redoak, and we hope to keep you informed. If you would like to subscribe to our quarterly e-mail, then simply use the link to the Enquiry Form to the left.

It’s been a quiet time at Redoak. It hasn't been as busy as the previous update, but as always, the Redoak team are all amusing themselves.
The pigs are growing more and more each week. Ann has been making several Redoak preserves, including Champagne & Strawberry conserve. She has also made some excellent Elderflower Cordial
Robert has been doing a lot of maintenance in the garden, and made it look a lot tidier. The recent heavy winds brought a lot of leaves across the drive, but luckily the leaf-sucker, with Robert's aid, came to the rescue.
Oliver has come back from university, and is currently setting up the guest lounge so it can have its own computer. This, we feel, will allow guests to use the Wi-Fi facilities, without having to bring along their own devices.
As always, we welcome all the comments we receive through the website, or direct to us via email. Many thanks, and keep following Redoak.

Our apologies for the time it has taken to update the website.
It's been a busy month here at Redoak. Robert, Ann & Oliver had been busy earlier this month with preparations for the Rutland Show. Once again this year was a real success, and the weather didn't dampen (!) anyone’s spirits.
The pigs our growing rapidly; it's amazing to see the growth every two weeks. Having started at the size of Archie (Border Terrier), they have now become roughly 80 lbs.
We are about to install a computer for guest use, which would be free of charge. More on this as it happens. In this fast-paced world we live in, it's important Redoak & its guests stay logged on and up to date.
The start of the summer means there will be lots of events in and around the county. Make sure you visit the Rutland Tourism website regularly for event listings. Keep an eye out for the Oakham Festival especially!

Redoak continues to grow from strength to strength! The pigs are starting to grow a bit (pictures to follow) and the recent sunny weather has meant that the garden is looking much healthier. Our first batch of rhubarb has come through and tastes delicious.
Our YouTube premier has attracted nearly 30 views both on here and actually on YouTube. Thank you to all who have viewed; let’s help it continue to grow by telling your friends and family

The Pigs have arrived! We are now in the process of uploading some footage to both here and YouTube. Apple and Stuffing, as they have been affectionately named, are expected to be with us for the next couple of months, and we look forward to seeing them become our first batch of Redoak Pork
We hope to update you on them and the Redoak Project as the week’s progress. Feel free, as always, to e-mail us with the address below

Duncan's visit was a success; it's looking likely we'll be getting some pigs. He is coming again tomorrow for a specific site-visit to make sure we can accommodate our new friends.
Not much else is happening at Redoak. Everyone is just grateful of whatever sunshine we can get, and hope that the rain passes soon!
10/4/08
Slowly but surely, the website is coming together! All the features are taking a little longer than expected, and this is partly down to our inexperience with the website editor!
On the pig front, Duncan, the agricultural consultant, is coming over for dinner tonight, so fingers crossed, it should all go well. You can learn more about Duncan and the rest of the team here
5/4/2008
Our first version of the website is up and running! Each of the sections to your left will come available as soon as we can make them. Otherwise, feel free to call or e-mail us about bookings.
We're beginning talks with our agricultural consultant, Duncan Burton, about getting a couple of pigs. The 'Pigs in Blankets' section will in fact be a live webcam into their shelter. More on this to come!
We hope you enjoy the website, and all of its coming features!
